TREES

   DOUGLAS FIR

Douglas Firs are the most popular Christmas trees in the US.

Branches are horizontal with drooping branchelets. Needles

are fragrant and soft, around 1" long, and bluish-green in color.

   TRIVIA:

The tallest tree in the United Kingdom is a 210 foot Douglas Fir.

    CONCOLOR FIR

Concolor firs are known for their soft, silver-green foliage and

their excellent needle retention. They are hypo-allergenic trees,

with flat needles which are approximately 1-1/2" to 2" long.

The name "concolor" refers to the fact that both the upper and

lower needle surfaces are the same color.

   FRASER FIR

Their ability to retain their soft needles for long periods of

time (after being cut) make Fraser Firs ideal Christmas trees.

Fraser crowns are conical, and their strong, straight branches

extend horizontally upward from the trunk. Needles are dark

green and around 1" in length.

Their reputation as "kid friendly" firs can be partially attributed

to their softness; a bonus when hanging ornaments.
